It costs £46.50 per person to give a notice of marriage or civil partnership.
If you are an East Riding resident (excluding Hull) and pay your council tax to the East Riding, and have been for at least 8 days, you can give notice with us.
If you are not an East Riding resident, you must give notice to your own local register office, in the region you pay council tax. This means - if you live in Hull and pay your council tax to Hull City Council, we can't take your notice.
If you are not a British or Irish National, or have a divorce document from a foreign country, the fee may be higher, so please contact us so we can advise you according to your personal situation.
Please note:

Only British nationals living in the East Riding of Yorkshire (Excluding Hull) can obtain a certificate of no impediment from the East Riding of Yorkshire Registration Service
We would always advise taking advice from the country of ceremony local authorities on doing this. You need to know the wording for the location of the ceremony which we be added to the document. We can’t provide this for you.
Make sure your certificate is in date for your ceremony. Your certificate will be dated 29 days after the date you give your notice. If you do this to early the document may be out of date before your ceremony. Do this too late and you may not have the document in time to travel. Some countries insist the document be no older than 3 months. Please check with the local authorities in the country of your ceremony.
